Minor and Double-Major Programmes

The double major program allows students who are registered and perform high in an undergraduate program at Doğuş University and wish and meet the requirements to have knowledge in the second field of study and obtain a second bachelor’s degree. Students who successfully complete a double major program are awarded a second bachelor degree certificate, and those who successfully complete a minor program are awarded a certificate.

Students can apply to the Minor Program earliest at the beginning of the 3rd and latest the 6th semesters of their enrolled undergraduate program. Applications for a minor program are made to the Student Affairs Directorate with an application form and a transcript on the announced dates. In order to apply for the Minor Program, the student must have successfully completed all courses in the undergraduate program in which s / he is enrolled and must have a minimum GPA of 2.50 at the time of application. If the number of applications exceeds the quota determined by the faculty, the student who has a highest GPA is given priority. Student applications that meet the requirements are sent to the related Faculties by the Student Affairs Directorate and finalized by the decision of the related board of directors at latest one week before the date of “Course Registration” is announced in the academic calendar. Students cannot register two minor programs simultaneously. It is possible to register to a minor program with a double major at the same time. Students who obtain the right to graduate from the undergraduate program and complete a minor program with a GPA of 2.00 at least are given a “Minor Certificate” at the end of the semester they graduate.

Double major program can be opened with the proposal of the Department of Business Administration and the Board of Directors of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences and the approval of the Senate. The Double Major programs to be opened and the courses and credits the student must take in the Double Major program are determined by the decision of the Department of Business Administration and the Faculty Board and the approval of the University Senate that are subject to the Higher Education Field Competencies determined by the Higher Education Council one month before the “Course Registration” date is announced in the academic calendar. Quotas, not less than 20% of the number of students who started to study in that academic year, are made with the approval of the Faculty Administrative Board after receiving the opinion of the Department of Business Administration and are announced one month before the beginning of the academic year.

Students can apply to the University for the Double Major Program (DMP) at the earliest 3rd and the latest at the beginning of the 5th semester of a Bachelor Program. Double Major applications are made to the Student Affairs Directorate with the application form and a transcript. In order for a student to apply to the Double Major Program, he / she must have successfully completed all the courses he / she has taken in the undergraduate program until the time he / she applied, must have at least a GPA of 2.72 and must be at the top 20% in the relevant class of the major program.If the number of applications exceeds the quota determined by the faculty, the students who have the highest GPA are given a priority. When the GPA is equal, the percentage of the student's success in the major program is evaluated. Student applications that meet the requirements are sent to the related faculty(s) by the Student Affairs Directorate. Admission to the Double Major Program is determined no later than one week before the “Course Registration” date in the academic calendar with the proposal of both department boards and the decision of the faculty board(s). No more than one double major program can be registered at the same time. In order to graduate from the double major program, the student must have at least 2.72 GPA. The double major certificate is given to the student as he graduates from the major diploma program.

Students who study in the programs in Turkish and want to do a Double Major Program or a Minor Program in English must pass the DÜİYES exam or prove that they are successful in national and international English Proficiency Exams which are equivalent to those accepted by the Doğuş University.
