Minor and Double-Major Programmes

Double Major Program enables students who successfully carry out undergraduate programs at Doğuş University to attend a second undergraduate or associate degree program that they are interested in, and take a bachelor's degree at the same time in a second undergraduate program that they are interested in. Students who successfully complete the second major are awarded a bachelor's degree, and a certificate for the minor who successfully completes the minor program.

Students can apply to the Minor Program at the beginning of the 3rd and the 6th semesters at the earliest. Applications to the minor program requires application form and transcript on the dates announced by the Student Affairs Directorate. In order to apply for the Minor Program, the student must have successfully completed all courses in the undergraduate program in which s / he is enrolled and must have a minimum GPA of 2.50 at the time of application. If the number of applications exceeds the quota determined by the faculty, the priority is given to student with highest grade point average. Student applications that meet the required conditions are sent to the related faculties by the Student Affairs Directorate and finalized by the decision of the related board of directors at the latest one week before the date of enrollment announced in the academic calendar. No more than one minor program can be registered at the same time. It is possible to register to the minor program with double major at the same time. “Minor Certificate ”is given to the student who obtains the right to graduate from the undergraduate program in which he / she is registered and also completes the minor program with a GPA of at least 2.00.

Upon the proposal of the Department of Economics and the Board of Directors of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences and the approval of the Senate, a double major program may be opened. The Double Major programs to be opened include the courses and credits the student must take in the Double Major program; It is determined one month before the date of enrollment announced in the academic calendar with the decision of the Department of Economics and the Faculty Board and the approval of the University Senate, taking into account the Higher Education Field Qualifications determined by the Higher Education Council. Quotas, not less than 20% of the number of students who started to study in that academic year, are made with the approval of the Faculty Board of Directors with the approval of the Department of International Trade and Management and announced one month before the beginning of the academic year.

The students can apply to Double Major Program the earliest at the beginning of their 3rd semester and the latest at the beginning of their 5th semester of their major programs. Double Major application is made to the Registrar's Office with the application form and transcript. In order to apply for the Double Major Program, the student must have successfully completed all the courses taken in the major undergraduate program until the time he / she applied, and must have at least 2.72 GPA and be in the top 20% in the relevant class of the major program. If the number of applications exceeds the quota determined by the faculty, the priority is given to student wiht highest grade point average. When the grade point average is equal, the percentage of the student's success in the major program is evaluated. Student applications that meet the necessary conditions are sent to the related faculty or faculties by the Registrar's Office. Admission to the Double Major Program is finalized by the proposal of both department boards and the decision of the faculty board or boards in the academic calendar no later than one week before the date of enrollment. No more than one double major program can be registered at the same time. Students must have at least 2.72 GPA in order to graduate from the Double Major Program. The graduation diploma for the second major degree can only be given to the student if he has graduated from the first major program.

Students, who study in Turkish programs but want to do Double Major or Minor in English programs must pass the DÜİYES exam or prove that they are successful in international and national exams accepted by the authorized departments of Doğuş University.
